Biryani Banquet Cooking Class (Zoom)

About This Cooking Experience

With step-by-step guidance via Zoom from Inspired Indian owner Kalpana Waikar, you'll prep and cook a 3-course Indian meal serving 4 to 5.

Menu  Hyderabadi Chicken Biryani layered, baked dish of spiced Basmati rice, marinated chicken, and fresh herbs; Jeera Aloo cumin roasted potatoes; Cucumber Raita spiced savory yogurt

Spices: pre-measured Inspired Indian spice kits for each dish included in price. will be shipped prior to class and available for local pickup at our retail store located at 812 Dempster, Evanston, IL.

Dietary & Allergy Info: requires Poultry and Dairy ingredients. Inspired Indian spices are packaged on shared equipment with WHEAT.

Please obtain these items before class!

  • 1 and 1/2 cups aged Basmati rice | click here for recommended brand on Amazon (affiliate link)
  • 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs
  • 2 large yellow onions
  • 3-inch piece fresh ginger
  • 1 head fresh garlic
  • 1 lemon
  • 1 cucumber
  • 1 bunch fresh cilantro
  • 1 bunch fresh mint
  • 2 lbs Yukon Gold or red potatoes
  • 1 and 1/2 cups plain, full-fat Greek yogurt | preferably Fage 5%
  • 4 to 6 tablespoons unsalted butter or ghee
  • 1 cup vegetable oil | for shallow frying and sautéing)

We will end registration on Sunday, May 15 at midnight, to help ensure you receive your spices in time.

If you would like to register after May 15 and can pick up your spices in person at our store (812 Dempster, Evanston, IL 60202), please email us at hello@inspiredindiancooking.com to reserve your spot.

Refunds aren't available, unfortunately. However, all classes will be taped and link emailed to all registered attendees.

If you email us at least 48 hours before your scheduled class and space is available, you can switch to another session of the same class.

Each class is carefully tested using the designated ingredients so we don't recommend making any modifications, to help ensure a successful cooking experience!
